Editorial Policy & Standards
Our newsroom operates under a binding ethical charter to ensure all published investigations, analysis, and news reports meet the highest standards of factual rigor and public trust.
1. Two-Source Verification & Primary Documents
Every factual assertion, technical breakdown, or investigative claim published by Bitbelles Journal undergoes strict pre-publication review:
- The Two-Source Rule: Uncorroborated single-source claims are not published as established fact. Investigative reports require multi-point corroboration across independent sources.
- Primary Documents First: We prioritize verified court filings, government gazettes, cryptographic logs, CVE databases, and peer-reviewed technical publications over third-party commentary.
- Technical Replication: Where cybersecurity exploits or vulnerabilities are reported, our technical editors independently cross-reference proof-of-concept artifacts with vendor disclosures before publication.
2. Transparent Corrections Protocol
Accuracy is the cornerstone of our credibility. While our editors work tirelessly to prevent errors, when mistakes occur, our policy is prompt, transparent, and unreserved correction:
- Clarifications & Corrigenda: When an article requires substantive correction, an explicit editorial note is appended at the top or bottom of the piece, detailing what was corrected, why, and the exact timestamp of the revision.
- No Silent Updates: We do not secretly scrub or rewrite factual errors without reader notice. Editorial revisions maintain an auditable public record.
- To submit a factual correction request, email our desk directly at corrections@bitbelles.com.
3. Confidential Sources & Whistleblower Protection
Bitbelles Journal grants anonymity only when an individual faces grave personal, legal, or retaliatory risk, and where the information is of overwhelming public interest.
When unnamed sources are referenced, our editorial desk requires the reporter to disclose the source’s identity and institutional position to the Managing Editor in strict confidence to verify their credibility and motives before publication.
4. Conflicts of Interest & Independence
- No Paid Editorial (Quid Pro Quo): Bitbelles Journal never accepts payment, gifts, corporate junkets, or equity in exchange for positive coverage or suppressed reportage.
- Clear Wall Between Advertising and Newsroom: Commercial sponsors, display advertisers, and programmatic ad networks (such as Google AdSense) have zero influence over story selection, investigative priorities, or editorial decisions.
- Financial Disclosures: If an author holds financial interests, cryptocurrency positions, or stock in a subject company mentioned in an analysis, explicit written disclosure is mandated.
5. Accountable Byline & Authorship
Every major story published on Bitbelles Journal carries a verified byline, publication timestamp, and author credentials. Meet our editors and writers on our Editorial Staff & Authors Directory.
